Daniel Hemric Battles to 12th-Place Finish with Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Chevrolet in the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol

"We worked hard during practice on Friday and made a few changes to the initial setup of our Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Chevrolet that Luke Lambert and the guys had success with in the past at Bristol Motor Speedway. I feel like that effort on Friday really helped us on Saturday during the race when the top of the racetrack came in, especially in Turns 3 and 4. At the start of the race, we rolled by a couple of cars and thought we'd be okay but as soon as we got in clean air our Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Chevrolet was way too loose, which made it hard to make speed on the bottom. We worked all night to get our Chevy tightened up and the handling would come to me if we could get a heat cycle on the tires. The race pace was so fast that it was a challenge to stay on the lead lap, but we had some things fall our way from time to time to get the free pass. If I had another corner or two, I think I could have passed the No. 6 car for 11th, but I'm just proud of everyone on the Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet team for never giving up and bringing home the finish that we did."

Daniel Hemric and the Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet Team Show Speed at Michigan International Speedway Before On-Track Incident

"Luck certainly has not been on the side of this No. 8 team the last two weeks. We started at the back of the field but we had a strong Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet and were able to race into the top 15 at the beginning of the race. Our troubles started at the end of Stage 2. There was a one-lap restart to end the stage and I don't know if Aric Almirola thought he was clear or what, but he came right across my nose, put me into the outside wall and damaged the left front, collecting our teammate as well. From there, we just tried to salvage all we could out of the damaged race car. I'm proud of these guys for never giving up and doing all they could to get me back out on the track without losing a lap after that incident. We fell a lap down at the end but I was doing all I could to maintain position as best as possible."

Incident in Bus Stop Hurts Daniel Hemric's First Watkins Glen Start with Caterpillar Chevrolet

"This was not how we saw today going with this Caterpillar Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. The car took off well when the green flag flew and we were making progress after the first few stops of the day. I had some issues with the brakes after we got some grass on the ducts, and with about 50 laps to go they gave up on me going into the Bus Stop and I got into Ty Dillon. That sent his car through the grass and my car slid into the tire barrier with the left side. These guys on pit road did all they could to make repairs and get the car competitive again, but the time we spent on pit road put us multiple laps down. We'll move on from this and focus forward as we head to Michigan next week."

Teamwork and Strategy Pay Off With Top-10 Finish For Daniel Hemric and the Caterpillar Chevrolet Team at Pocono Raceway

"Hard work pays off, and the 7th-place finish we had today at Pocono Raceway is proof of that. The No. 8 Caterpillar Chevy started off with great balance in the beginning of Stage 1, but as the laps went by, it started to tighten up a lot. Even though I had a tight Chevy, it was fast enough to gain valuable track position. The scheduled pit stop on lap 36 gave me fresh right-side tires, fuel and a chassis adjustment to free me up a bit. This proved to be helpful and we finished the stage 11th. During the stage break, we took left-side tires and took a round out of the left rear. Unfortunately, this freed me up way too much and I had to battle a loose Caterpillar Chevy for a majority of Stage 2. The pit stop before the stage break solved some of those issues, and we finished the second stage 13th. In the final stage, we started 20th but quickly made up ground. Crew chief Luke Lambert dialed in our Caterpillar Chevy for the latter part of the stage and we ran a good chunk of that time in the top 10. With about 40 laps remaining, it became clear that we needed to save fuel; so that's what we did for the remainder of the race. A caution with eight laps to go allowed us to go full-tilt until the end. I'm extremely proud of the grit and fight this No. 8 team showed today to power us to a top-10 finish. I can't wait to take this momentum into Watkins Glen next week."

Stage 2 Incident Ends Daniel Hemric And The Okuma Chevrolet Team's Day Early at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

"I hate that this is how our weekend ended at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with the No. 8 Okuma Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. We worked on the handling of the car all weekend long and felt like we had something for them once the green flag dropped. We were racing inside the top 15 and just waiting for the car to come to me on the run when I saw the No. 48 car dive to the left down the frontstretch to avoid oil. I just tried to stay as far to the right of the oil and hold on into Turn 1, but I don't think the No. 41 car saw the fluid and lost it underneath of me. The contact sent us spinning into the wall and caused some heavy damage to the nose and the right front, causing further damage to the motor. I feel like we had a strong car and had a solid day ahead of us, but it just wasn't our day."

Daniel Hemric and the No. 8 Caterpillar Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Team Showcase Their Never-Give-Up Attitude at Kentucky Speedway

"Our No. 8 Caterpillar Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 was faster than our 24th-place finish indicates tonight at Kentucky Speedway. Starting in the top 10 was a positive step for this team, and it was great to earn Stage points at the conclusion of Stage 1. Throughout Stage 2, we chipped away at the lead and gained solid ground until we were assessed a stop and go penalty during our pit stop on lap 150. The penalty put us two laps down, but we kept fighting and grinding it out because there's no quit in this team. It wasn't the finish we hoped for, but I know we have a resilient group that will be ready to rebound next weekend in New Hampshire."

Daniel Hemric Finishes 18th in Rain-Shortened Coke Zero Sugar 400 with No. 8 Cessna Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

"What a weekend down here in Daytona. We have to thank all of the amazing race fans who stuck it out with all of the weather we've had here this weekend. Our No. 8 Cessna Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 was fast throughout the weekend and we had a solid plan to work with our fellow Chevrolet drivers once the race started and that seemed to work out when the green flag flew. We were just biding our time but then made contact with another car exiting pit road, which caused some damage to the right front of the car. The guys were able to fix that damage, but then we got even more damage when the No. 41 came down the track and hit us in the right side. We had significant damage from that and fell two laps down, but these guys never gave up and we kept fighting. We were able to get one lap back because of the wave around, then got the free pass to get back on the lead lap. Unfortunately, the weather came and we never got the chance to go up there and mix it up for the race win. I hate it for all of the guys on this Cessna Chevrolet, the fans here at the track and watching at home, but that's part of racing. We'll regroup and head to Kentucky and look to continue our momentum there."

Daniel Hemric and RCR's No. 8 Liberty National Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Team Recover From Pit Road Penalty To Earn 19th-Place Finish at Chicagoland Speedway

"It was a battle all day at Chicagoland Speedway but this No. 8 Liberty National Chevrolet Team was up to the challenge. At the start of the race, we battled a really evil Chevrolet. The ride quality was rough and we struggled over the bumps and lost a lot of track position. We made numerous adjustments to improve handling, and Luke Lambert's changes definitely helped. Unfortunately, we were penalized for an uncontrolled tire and that put us multiple laps down. I was proud that we were able to dig ourselves out of that hole and get all three laps back. We were trending in the right direction but a long green flag run at the end of the race hurt our ability to stop and re-rack with the rest of the field. That's the way it goes. It was a tough day for everyone on this team but we never quit. I have to thank all of the fans that stuck with us through that wild weather today. It just goes to show why NASCAR fans are the best in sports."

Daniel Hemric Earns Stage Points, Records 12th-Place Finish in Chevrolet Accessories Camaro ZL1 at Michigan International Speedway

"I was fairly happy with how this No. 8 Chevrolet Accessories Camaro ZL1 took off to start the race. I feel like we had the ability to make some good moves. That made me feel more confident than I needed to be, and I hung myself out a couple of times and lost a little bit of track position. Early in the race we tried to take fuel only and it just killed our balance. After that, we started chipping away at the positions ahead of us and were able to score some points at the end of Stage 2. We were setting ourselves up to have good track position to start Stage 3, but we had an issue with the air hose getting caught on the splitter and that caused us to lose all of our track position. I was able to drive back inside the top 10, which shows the speed we had in our Chevrolet Accessories Camaro ZL1. When that last caution came out, we got stuck in the dreaded bottom lane, where nobody wanted to be all day, and got shuffled back on the restart. We salvaged a 12th-place finish. We'll learn from today and come back here later in the year ready for an even better result."

Daniel Hemric Leads Laps, Finishes 13th with No. 8 Kalahari Resorts & Conventions Chevrolet at Pocono Raceway

"I thought we did a really good job of maximizing our day with this No. 8 Kalahari Resorts & Conventions Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. We struggled a little bit too much on restarts, and I have to figure out how to position myself better to not give up so much track position. In the race the car took off too loose on corner entry to attack. I thought we would never get that connected to make some decent lap times. As soon as Luke Lambert and this team were able to make some adjustments to this No. 8 Kalahari Chevrolet, we were able to do that and made forward progress. Staying out long on the next-to-last run and pitting late for right side tires and fuel gave us a huge amount of track position and made our lap times much better than the cars around us. The clean air helped us get track position as well. I wish we could have maintained in the top 10 over the course of that last restart, but it just didn't work out. We'll go to work, build off this momentum and look to have another strong day next week in Michigan."

Early Contact Hinders Daniel Hemric's Efforts in First Coca-Cola 600 Start with Cessna Chevrolet

"I really hate this night did not turn out better than it did for everyone on this Cessna Chevrolet Team. Luke Lambert and everyone on this team gave me a really fast No. 8 Cessna Chevy. We showed that in practice throughout the weekend and in qualifying on Thursday night. The car took off really well to start the race but we got so many cautions in Stage 1 that we made a strategy call to stay out and were able to grab the lead by doing that. Being able to lead in my first Coca-Cola 600 was a cool experience for sure, but the cars with fresher tires were much quicker on the restart. One of them made contact with the right rear and sent me into the outside wall off Turn 4. I'm really proud of everyone on this team, because they never gave up. We hit pit road as much as possible the rest of the night and they made repairs as best they could. We kept adjusting on it and just tried to do all we could to get to the end. When the caution came out with about 35 laps to go, we took the wave around to get one lap back and hoped for a quick caution, but we never got that when we needed and had to hit pit road under green with 20 laps to go. We will head to Pocono and try to change our luck there."

Daniel Hemric's Strong Showing in All-Star Open Comes to an End After Wreck in Segment 2

"When you come to Charlotte Motor Speedway for NASCAR All-Star weekend the only thing that matters is winning, and I am disappointed we didn't get that done tonight. This No. 8 Bass Pro Shops/Caterpillar Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 was fast as can be, and we showed that by winning the pole on Friday night. We led the majority of the opening segment during the All-Star Open and I thought we were in a good spot to transfer into the All-Star Race but the caution came out and the car was just too tight to hang onto the lead on the overtime restart. We came in during the stage break and Luke Lambert and the guys put four tires on our Bass Pro Shops/Caterpillar Chevrolet and made a chassis adjustment that really improved the handling. We were racing hard with the No. 47 when we got together and it ended our day.  We had one of the fastest cars in the field and it is really a shame we didn't get the chance to race in the main event tonight."

Daniel Hemric Earns First-Career Top-Five Finish in Caterpillar Chevrolet at Talladega Superspeedway

"It was a successful day for us, that's for sure. Thanks to everyone on this No. 8 Caterpillar Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 team for sticking with me all year; this was the run we needed. We earned some stage points, brought home a clean Camaro, and scored our first top-five finish as a group. We weren't able to be too aggressive all day but a great job by Chevrolet and all of our guys to stay committed. We did everything we could through the restarts and green flag stops to stay together and fortunately we were able to keep our Chevrolet on the bottom and had a couple of us lined up there together in the closing laps. The racing was wild. I tried to stay dedicated and patient throughout the race, and that was the most difficult thing for us. I'm proud of all the effort put forth by all of the Chevrolet teams and drivers to get Chevy back in Victory lane, that helps us all on the manufacturer side of things. Hopefully these fans enjoyed the show; I know I did."

We didn't finish exactly where we wanted, but we definitely out-kicked our coverage from the positions we've put ourselves in over the last few weeks. We'll take it and hopefully it's a building moment for everyone on this No. 8 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet team. I still love racing at Richmond and I feel like I know what I need  when we come here in the Fall to contend and run where our teammate Austin Dillon was tonight. Daniel Hemric's Bristol Cup Debut Hits Snag When Caterpillar/ Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet is Spun Early

"Man, what a day. We knew going into today's race we had a tall task ahead of us, but a few things in the opening stage made it an even tougher day. When the first caution of the race happened, I had slowed down but got hit from behind and received damage to the nose of the No. 8 Caterpillar/Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. The pit crew did a good job making the necessary repairs, and we were logging some laps in the top 20 when we just got hit from behind by the No. 15, spun and backed into the wall. That hurt the handling of the car pretty bad, and it was all I could do to hang on for the rest of the day. This was definitely a frustrating race, but the crew never gave up all weekend and made the most of the situation. Here's hoping we find some good luck soon. We just need a clean race, and that is the goal next weekend in Richmond."

Late-Race Incident Hurts Daniel Hemric's Day at Texas Motor Speedway

"After our strong qualifying effort with the No. 8 Bulwark FR/Wayne Workwear Chevrolet, clearly this was not the result we had hoped for. The car was strong all weekend long and felt good in the pack. We were too free in traffic but Luke Lambert (crew chief) and the guys worked on the handling each time we came to pit road. I made slight contact with the wall off Turn 2 late in the final stage and that eventually caused the right rear tire to go down. The guys did all they could to clear the tire, but the rubber wrapped around everything under the car and we lost a lot of laps getting it fixed. We will keep our heads high and look to rebound next week at Bristol Motor Speedway."

Martinsville Speedway Race Serves as a Learning Experience for Rookie Daniel Hemric and The Bass Pro Shops/TRACKER Boats Chevrolet Team

"This weekend certainly did not go as planned, but it was not for a lack of effort on the part of Luke Lambert and the guys that work on this No. 8 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet. This was my first time here since 2016 in the Truck Series, so there was a bit of a learning curve but we showed some speed in final practice on Friday. We struggled in qualifying but were able to move forward once the race went green. It just seemed like we could not catch a break today. We missed the free pass by one position a couple of times and the cautions didn't fall where we needed them. We had to pit under green for a loose wheel late in the race, then again for a flat right front tire with less than 20 laps to go. Things didn't go as planned, but we kept the car out of trouble and learned a lot for when we come back to Martinsville Speedway later in the year."

Contact with the Outside Wall Hurts Daniel Hemric's Top-10 Efforts in Fontana

"I hate it for everyone on this No. 8 Liberty National Life Insurance Chevrolet team. We had a strong run going and had worked from the 17th spot to racing inside the top 10 by the end of Stage 1. I was racing in heavy traffic once we went back green, and the air just sucked me up the track and I made contact with the outside wall exiting Turn 4. That damage cut the right rear tire and we had to pit under green to repair the damage. Unfortunately, we had another flat right rear, which caused even more damage. Nobody on this team gave up and I am proud of them for doing all they could to repair the damage. The car still had speed, but without the help of many cautions, we never really had the chance to get those laps back and then we had a flat left front in the closing laps, which hurt us even more."

Luke Lambert and the team didn't give up though and we kept fighting and working on our Camaro. It started to come back to me towards the end of the race, and I was able to carry gas into the corners better than I could at the start of the day. We just ran out of time to really make anything up. I'm confident in this team's ability to bounce back from this. We know what we need to work on and will regroup to get back after it at ISM Raceway."

Daniel Hemric's Top-Five Run in Red Kap/Alsco Chevrolet Ruined by Flat Right Front Tire Late at Atlanta Motor Speedway

"It was a crazy, crazy day. It is definitely heart breaking not to get a top-five finish for these guys that work on this No. 8 Red Kap/Alsco Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. We put ourselves in position to have a solid day, even though I made some mistakes on pit road - way too many mistakes than you can afford to make at this level and that is something I will work to clean up on my end. Luke Lambert and everyone on this team still gave me a shot to run inside the top five late in the race, but a flat right front tire in the closing laps ruined what was shaping up as a strong day. The good thing is that this serves as some motivation for everyone at RCR and on this No. 8 team. Those are the kinds of race cars we need to bring to the racetrack every week to give ourselves a shot. It was fun to drive and fun to pass people, and I am looking forward to get to Las Vegas next week."

Daniel Hemric Collected in 'Big One' After Leading Laps with No. 8 Bass Pro Shops/Caterpillar Chevrolet in First Daytona 500

"This No. 8 team has busted their tails over the last two weeks trying to prepare for the Daytona 500. It was good to lead a few laps and run up front at times.  I thought we were in good shape on the second to last restart before the crash.  We lined up sixth and we got hung up behind a car that had damage and it drug the whole top line back.  You get that accordion effect on corner entry and I saw the No. 95 get turned around at the front of the field and at that point there was a road block across the track. You're trying to make moves in the pack, but you're going so fast and everyone is trying to get to the end of the race and there is just nowhere to go. I hate it for everyone on this Bass Pro Shops / Caterpillar Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 team. The car was damaged but we were still going to be able to finish, but NASCAR told us to park it for moving under the red. The car rolled down the banking and moved away from the incident so they could get to the other wrecked cars. At the end of the day, we will count our blessings and go on to Atlanta."
